Greening, waste management or even eco-citizenship missions: The Peter-McGill \u00c9co-quartier offers many positive initiatives for our community.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/b><\/p>\n

Highlighting simple actions that the citizen cannot carry out independently is at the heart of their initiatives. To contribute to greening the neighborhood, the organization has, for example, created and developed green alleys, planted trees, and set up a seed library.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/b><\/p>\n

The Seed Library is a great opportunity to try gardening without paying any money, as all of the present seedlings are offered for free. Whether you are an expert or an amateur, the service is open to everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/b><\/p>\n

The seeds offered have been specially designed for the urban environment, with plants suitable for balconies and small plots. You will find flowers, aromatic herbs such as dill or rosemary and even certain vegetables such as radishes, tomatoes or kale.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/b><\/p>\n

How it works? The principle is simple: Come get seeds at the \u00c9co-quartier. Plant them on your balcony or in a strip of land in front of your home. Finally, during your harvest at the end of the summer season, you can in turn contribute to the library by bringing some of your harvested seeds. Based on discussion and sharing, the \u00c9co-quartier Peter-McGill promotes citizens’ awareness of environmental issues by supporting them in ecological initiatives. This project is a great opportunity to learn more about autonomous urban agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you afraid of going about it the wrong way? Do you prefer to be accompanied in your planting procedures? No problem! The organization regularly organizes workshops to teach you how to plant your seedlings and take care of them! There’s even a quiz to test your seed knowledge if you’re feeling confident! So don’t hesitate to get started and go to the \u00c9co-quartier Peter-McGill library, at<\/span> 1240 Saint-Marc street, H3H 2E5 <\/span><\/a>!<\/span><\/p>\n
