These regulations aim to build and improve upon the Inclusion Strategy adopted by the city in 2005, by creating obligatory rules for new residential buildings built in the city.<\/p><h2>Lack of social housing in Peter-McGill<\/h2><p>As you may know, there is a severe shortage of social housing in Peter-McGill, but new condo developments are booming, including the redevelopment of the Children\u2019s Square. While the Inclusion Strategy has resulted in the confirmation of a social housing tower on this site, the process has been rocky and precarious. <strong>Stricter regulations could help ensure that social, affordable and family housing units are included on many more new developments in our neighbourhood.<\/strong><\/p><p>The public consultation process will be starting in the coming months. <strong>We will be sure to keep you all informed of upcoming dates and related activities.<\/strong> Let\u2019s participate in large numbers!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Above: Portrait of social housing in Ville-Marie.
